Please join Students for Scholars at Risk for what promises to be a fascinating discussion. A diverse range of speakers from Harvard University and the community will share from their experiences in the realm of storytelling and story sharing as they grapple with the questions: Why do stories matter? Why do we tell them? Why do we listen? Together, the panelists will begin to explore the power of stories and the ways in which that power shapes lives. Panelists: Jill Lepore, David Woods Kemper ’41 Professor of American History; Kimberly Theidon, John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences; Birtukan Midekssa, Founder, Unity for Democracy and Justice Party (UDJ), Ethiopia; Erika Duncan, Founder, Herstory Writers Workshop; Robert Pinsky, Author & Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress (1997-2000); Tracy Kidder, Author & Pulitzer Prize Winner (1982).
