Join the Harvard African Law Association, Advocates for Human Rights and the Harvard Law School Human Rights Program for a conversation with Justice Ntyam Ondo Mengue, Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Prior to joining the African Court, Justice Mengue built a distinguished judicial career in Cameroon spanning more than four decades and currently serves as President of the Commercial Section of the Supreme Court of Cameroon.‌

Justice Mengue is also a member of Cameroon’s National Commission on Human Rights and Freedoms, where she has served as Rapporteur and worked on issues including voting rights, the rights of detained persons, arbitrary arrest, and the right to a fair trial. Fluent in both French and English, she brings a wealth of experience from national, regional, and international institutions.‌

The discussion will offer students and members of the Harvard community an opportunity to engage with one of Africa’s leading jurists on questions of law, justice, and public service.

This event is co-sponsored by Harvard Law School’s Human Rights Program, the Harvard African Law Association, HLS Advocates for Human Rights, and the Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising.
