“Leon Trotsky: A Revolutionary’s Life”

A book talk by Joshua Rubenstein, Northeast Regional Director of Amnesty International USA

12:00-1:00 pm

Wasserstein room 2036A

Please join us for a book talk by Amnesty International Northeast Regional Director Joshua Rubenstein, Associate at Harvard’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, whose new biography of Leon Trotsky explores the revolutionary’s life.

“Nothing great has been accomplished in history without fanaticism, ”  Rubenstein reminds us, quoting from a letter Trotsky wrote in 1938. As a witness and participant to a Europe-wide Communist upheaval, Trotsky’s life and observations bring perspective on contemporary global upheavals, as well as the use and abuse of the judicial system in the legitimation of ruling regimes.
