Valenia Bergier

Program Assistant

Valenia Bergier is the Program Assistant of the Human Rights Program. They provide administrative support to the execution of HRP’s community events, fellowships, and publications. Valenia earned a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University in 2021 and is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Valenia’s professional experience reflects her passion for advocating for those who are historically excluded and assisting marginalized groups in navigating systemic inequalities in their interactions with political and legal institutions. Prior to joining HRP, Valenia served as a senior paralegal in immigration and family law. They assisted in USCIS waivers and applications, special immigrant juvenile visas, and litigation of humanitarian cases before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). In addition to their legal role, Valenia has worked at nonprofits supporting women, undocumented youth, and low-income individuals, gaining valuable hands-on experience with underrepresented communities. Through these roles, Valenia developed a deep understanding of the impact of policy and direct action. At HRP, Valenia continues to pursue their mission of advancing systemic change and promoting justice for marginalized populations.
